Introduction
My name is Susan Sutton and I have Medullary Cystic Kidney Disease, a rare hereditary disease. I live in a Rockford, Minnesota. I have been living on peritoneal dialysis for about 3 years now without any sign of a transplant in the near future. I have been on the deceased donor list for over 3 1/2 years; however, it may be another 4-5 years before acquiring a kidney from a deceased donor. I have exhausted the resources for a living donor within the immediate family and close friends. I am now reaching out through various organizations and the community to get my story out to those I may not know, but who may want to help.
A kidney donation is a gift of life. I request that you prayerfully consider the options through which you may assist to increase my quality of life, as well as others needing kidney transplants. Please read about me, information about kidney disease, and how you may assist throughout this website. As it has been determined that there is no affect to the quality of life to a living kidney donor, no one in need of a kidney transplant should be on a waiting list.
Thank you for your time in visiting this website, learning about my situation, sharing this website with others, and consideration of what you can do to assist.
If you or someone you know would like to confidentially seek additional information, proceed to be considered for kidney donation or participate in the Paired Exchange Program, please contact University of Minnesota Fairview Transplant Center Intake Specialist at 612-672-7270. Please reference Susan Sutton from Rockford, MN and Diane Rachey from Aitkin, MN. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
